Although Sunday morning worship is the focal point for our community’s activities, much of what we do takes place outside the worship service. Our many active committees keep the Society functioning smoothly, and there are numerous groups and events that bind the community together. From the Adult Education Program to the Choir to teaching in the Religious Education Program for Children and Youth to joining Small Group Ministries, there are many ways to get involved and get to know other members of the congregation. We have a close relationship with our partner church in Homorodkaracsonyfalva, Transylvania, with an active Partner Church Committee that keeps those ties strong.
There are many opportunities for social action, including cooking for the Grove Street Inn and Cot Shelter, joining the Green Team or the Living Wage Coalition, or working on the Garden Project to provide organic vegetables to the Northampton Survival Center. The Pastoral Care Committee serves the congregation by providing assistance to those of our members and friends who are in need during times of crisis or illness.
