Our historic brick building on Main Street was built in 1904-1905, on the site of an earlier wood building constructed in 1825. The current brick structure has Corinthian style columns, and the Great Hall is in the Greek Revival style, with 2 side aisles and a grand organ in the rear balcony. The Great Hall also features four large stained glass windows, including two Tiffany windows.
Inside the building
Seating capacity in the Great Hall is approximately 225. The main level also includes a Parlor (social space) and offices.
The lower level has additional offices and classrooms, some with portable walls that allow for removal to create larger open spaces when needed. There is a kitchen, used for Society functions, and restrooms on the lower level, as well.
Exterior of the building
The lawn in front of the buildling extends to Main Street, and is used in good weather for outdoor Society events, as well as occasionally for community events.
Accessibility
While the front doors offer a welcoming entrance on the Main Street side of the building, it is located at the top of a few steps. There is an accessible entrance on the side, with an elevator just inside that door. All-gender restrooms downstairs are accessible and can be reached by the elevator.
