There are a variety of ways to support USNF financially.
Pledges
We depend almost entirely upon the generosity of our congregation for funding. Contributions pay our staff, provide religious education, maintain our building, and meet program expenses. Pledges by members and friends during the annual stewardship campaign or upon making a commitment to the Society are the major source of our support.
Our giving campaigns are organized by the Stewardship Committee and usually begin in February. For more information and to make a pledge, please visit our Stewardship Giving Campaign page.
We vary in our capacity to support the Society financially. All are asked to give as generously as possible, consistent with their ability and commitment. For some assistance in deciding your share, go to the Pledge Guide.
How to pay a pledge
Options for paying your pledge
- Pay your pledge at your own pace by sending a check through the mail, or by setting up your own billpay through your bank.
- Sign up for automatic payments from your bank account. Contact our office (

Checks should be made out to "Unitarian Society of Northampton and Florence" or "USNF." On the memo line, please write "Pledge" and the fiscal year of the pledge you are paying. Pledge forms and checks can be mailed to:

Plate collections
Weekly plate collections taken during the worship service also contribute to the work we do. (You can also make a "plate collection" donation online.)
Grocery Store Gift Cards
Contribute painlessly when you buy groceries! If you shop at Big Y, Stop and Shop, or River Valley Market for your groceries, consider doing so with store gift cards (scrip) purchased here at the Society. You spend the same amount of money, but the stores donate a percentage of their income to the Society. Help financially support the Society without spending any extra money. Buy grocery store cards before or after most Sunday services, or order by contacting the office by email at
Donate your Vehicle to USNF
USNF has a new program to help members and friends dispose of old vehicles and make a tax-deductible donation to the Society. See more information here.
Legacy Giving
A Planned Gift is an incredibly thoughtful type of contribution that will ensure lasting financial support for the Society far into the future. You can make a donation at any time to contribute to Share the Plate, make a pledge payment, pay for Religious Education fees, or offer general support to the Society.
