Board Report February 2021

The Board of Trustees offered a worship service on January 24 entitled, Leading During Uncertainty: Vulnerability and Trust, which received much positive feedback from the congregation. We felt pleased and gratified! Readings from Brene Brown grounded us as we prepared, and the entire board participated with four of us offering personal reflections. We will consider board-led services again in the future.

We were also pleased to have Finance Committee members Russ Carrier and Linda Adams join us at January's meeting to discuss their committee’s recent work and plans. Matters considered included: work to assure adequate support for building maintenance; the committee’s collaboration with House and Property on a list of building maintenance projects; ways to encourage robust committee membership overall; and how to assess the audio and other system needs for future hybrid (in-person plus live-streamed) worship. This discussion was a continuation of our work to clarify the relationships and responsibilities of USNF's standing committees. We greatly appreciate all that the Finance Committee does for our Society. Currently serving us are Linda Adams, Ruth Banta, Russ Carrier (chair), David Klimczak, David Nelson, and Jan Nettler.

As always, checking the pulse of the congregation was front and center of the meeting. We look forward to the time when we can all breathe easier.
