Getting involved

Although Sunday morning worship is the focal point for our community’s activities, much of what we do takes place outside the worship service. We also have plenty of opportunities to meet together to connect, support each other, engage in social justice, and serve over Zoom and in person.

Our many active committees keep the Society functioning smoothly, and there are numerous groups and events that bind the community together.

From the Adult Education program to the Choir to teaching in the Religious Education Program for Children and Youth to joining Small Group Circles, there are many ways to get involved and get to know other members of the congregation. We also have a close relationship with our partner church in Homoródkarácsonyfalva, Transylvania (Romania), with an active Partner Church Committee that keeps those ties strong.

There are many opportunities for social action. Through USNF the Vote we work to combat voter suppression and get out the vote in key states. You can join the Climate Action Group or the Racial Justice Team. There are service opportunities like cooking together for the Grove Street Inn and Cot Shelter. The Pastoral Care Committee serves the congregation by providing assistance to those of our members and friends who are in need during times of crisis or illness.

Upcoming events are highlighted on our home page and on the Events and Activities page.
