November 5, after the service. Translate Gender will facilitate a workshop about gender, open to the community.
Join our friends from Translate Gender and our community to deepen our practice of creating inclusive and welcoming spiritual spaces for our trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive community members. Many people have good intentions of being an ally, but don’t know how to turn these intentions into action. This workshop will support our ongoing community learning related to gender (expression, identity, and perception), experiences related to coming out, health, navigating relationships and community, connection to spirituality, and the impact of our current political and social climate. Workshop attendees will have an opportunity to practice inclusive language, learn about community resources, and help continue to create affirming spaces within our congregation and beyond.
More about Translate Gender:
Translate Gender is a trans-led community organization founded in 2006 to serve families of trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive youth, helping them connect with other families, and supporting youth to build community, resilience, and joy. Since then, our programming has evolved to advocate for gender justice in K-12 schools, organizations, and in the community, to provide family counseling services, training and education services; and to use creativity and the arts to ensure trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive youth can flourish in Western Massachusetts. After 15 years operating as a volunteer effort, we incorporated as a 501c3 in 2021 to strengthen and expand our programs. Learn more about us at translategender.org.
