Faith Development February 2021

Looking ahead to March, I am optimistic that we will see glimmers of spring - crocuses peeking out beneath snow, the plink of sap in buckets, the surprises that appear as the snow melts away.

The worship theme this month is respect and our kids will consider respect for the earth as we notice the changes of spring and tackle neighborhood trash pick ups. We are offering opportunities to respect our neighbors by providing a meal at Cathedral in the Night . Everyone is welcome to sign up to contribute lasagna or bread/ rolls for a meal on March 14.

Respect is a concept that touches all levels and ages of our faith development programs. The 2nd Principle of Unitarian Universalism is justice, equity, and compassion in human relationships - reminding us to strive for respecting all people. As a faith, we are learning about how we can be more respectful and inclusive with the Widening the Circle Report on Institutional Change. In addition to the attached online version, there are print versions to borrow or buy in the This email address is being protected from spambots. Youth Group: News, Music, and Lengthiness

Breaking News!

The youths have now begun to plan their online worship service! There was an extensive brainstorming session, in which many ideas for themes were discussed via Zoom and Google Jamboard, whilst being intensely watched by a variety of a variety of sideways text faces fabricated out of hyphens, colons, braces, and parentheses. ({:-{0)

At the next worship meeting, there was a greater number of youth present, so they all collectively conducted an extensive voting process over google forms to solidify a theme. There was a somewhat fierce debate as to what was the best voting system to use in order to elect one out of the five possible themes. Link to Full Article
