June 2022

This month I am borrowing shamelessly from my reflection this past Sunday, as we prepare for a summer break.

There will be one more Tuesday Beacon next week, after which you’ll see it again in late August. The Sunday Times will come bi-weekly. Office hours will be reduced beginning June 20. Please see the Sunday Times and call first if you need to stop by, as hours may vary somewhat week to week.

I will be available for pastoral care and other matters except when away for UUA General Assembly or on vacation. Those dates are June 20-June 27, July 8-July 17, and August 2-August 8. Please contact a President’s team member if you need to reach me.

We’ll have a reduced schedule of Sunday services, all of which will be on Zoom/Youtube. Details will be coming soon. There were many wonderful lay-led services this spring. This summer we’re offering a break to the large team of people who make our online and in-person services happen every Sunday, September - June.

May summer’s blessings be abundant for you all, and may they, in Jan Richardson’s words,

sit themselves beside you among the shards

and gently turn your face toward the direction

from which the light will come…

May you also be a blessing to the earth and for justice. The link to a list of suggestions for what you can do is included here and is on our website under the social action tab.

This summer, may you have firefly moments and firefly wishes that come true. May you enjoy the slower pace that accompanies very hot days, cool your toes and limbs in streams or lakes or ocean waves. And may you turn your faces and move your feet in the direction from which the light will come.

I continue to be blessed to be your minister. Janets signature
